Learning the Life Skill of Acceptance

Most of us experience life like a roller coaster. We don’t always know which way it’s headed, and the loops and corkscrews can throw us around before we see any real pattern. Some people find that ride fun and exciting. Others find it terrifying. What makes the difference?
The first person can enjoy the excitement, even when it gets scary, becau
se they trust the track. The second person feels overwhelmed because they don’t. Some people can choose not to ride an actual roller coaster, but none of us can fully opt out of the roller coaster called life.
On the ride of life, is it okay to be surprised and even scared? Yes. Should those feelings keep us from enjoying life? No. Can we avoid the ride altogether? Not really. Some people withdraw because life feels too big to handle. Others build a lifestyle around avoiding conflict, worrying about finances or health, or moving through life with proverbial blinders on.
What if you could move through life with more enthusiastic curiosity than fear? What if life was not random after all, but on a track built by God? When we embrace the sovereignty of God, we learn that He has the final say in providence, and that His ways are always for His glory and our good. That basic Bible truth connects directly to the life skill of acceptance, one of six life skills researchers have linked to a mentally and emotionally healthy life.
At Christian Care & Coaching, you can learn the six basic life skills that can improve your mental and emotional health, along with the seven related spiritual characteristics of a spiritually healthy life. Some people treat physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health as separate categories, but scientific and Biblical research both point to how deeply they are connected. Christian Care & Coaching can help you experience hope through a holistic approach.
Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed by life’s roller coaster? Wouldn’t you rather move forward with enthusiastic curiosity? Now’s your chance. Reach out through the Email link or the contact page. We look forward to helping you find hope and joy for the ride ahead.
